Ivan Šarić won Skalica Masters 2020

In the Slovak town Skalica in the period from August 23 to August 30, the 16th Skalica Masters was held, which is of an invitational character. 10 players participated, of which 3 were grandmasters, 4 international masters and 2 fide masters. A berger system was played (each with each) with a game pace of 90 minutes per player for the first 40 moves, and an additional 30 minutes for the rest of the game, also after each move the players were given an additional 30 seconds.

Although the 3rd seed, the victory went to the best ranked Croatian player GM Ivan Šarić with an impressive result of 7.5 points from 9 rounds. The same number of points, but slightly worse criteria in the tournament had the German GM Donchenko Alexander. Third place went to Hungarian GM Berkes Ferenc with 6.5 points.
